My unique technique originated from my years of experience in creating mosaics in combination with my training in Textile Work Forms. Combining hard and soft materials gives the work an extra dimension that cannot be compared to any other art form.
In the work of my version of the Mona Lisa, who doesn't know her…, I used the following materials: various types of glass, wood, velvet, organza, felt, wool, cord, satin, leather, chenille, suede, mini gravel, stones, rhinestones, cord, etc. etc. I made Mona Lisa on a base of wood and mounted 4 bars at the back. This makes the thickness 3.7 CM, which gives the work a nice robust appearance. The work is finished all around with black velvet band.
Like all my works, Mona Lisa is even more beautiful in person!
