Anthonius (Toon) Henricus Koster (Schiedam, January 19, 1913 - Utrecht, November 25, 1989) was a Dutch painter. He is best known for his landscapes with dramatic skies.
Koster attended the Rotterdam Art Academy from 1934, where he was trained as a painter and graphic artist.
After getting married in early 1940, Koster found a home in Nieuwkoop. Ten years later the family moved to Noorden. Many of his paintings are made in and around these villages. In 1955 Koster made several murals for the National Energy Manifestation 1955 in Rotterdam. He also worked with Karel Appel, among others. In the 1960s, Koster produced many paintings that were sold in the United States.
In the last years of his life, Koster received more appreciation for his oeuvre in the form of several major exhibitions. 67395689
