Lenci (Ludus Est Nobis Constanter Industria) is a cloth doll factory founded in 1919 in the city of Turin.
Helen König (Elenchen, as her father called her and which she pronounced LENCI) is the artist who created the first dolls, as well as the wife of Enrico Scavini, founder of the company.
Lenci dolls not only reproduced children, often with a sulky face like the famous "grunt", but also figures with regional or ethnic costumes, fashionable clothes or masks, and fictional characters or characters inspired by real models.
The vast collection of dolls ranged from toy items intended for the world of childhood to refined collectible boudoir dolls, some of which had the face of Marlene Dietrich.
The great success of these sensational felt dolls earned the Lenci company numerous awards during the various international exhibitions in Zurich, Paris, Rome or Milan in which it took part.
Today the historic Lenci dolls are sought-after collector's items displayed in museums around the world!
This beautifully detailed 1960s felt doll wears a bright, bright blue and yellow dress with hand-sewn beautiful yellow and blue flowers with green leaves.
She wears a large blue hat embroidered with lots of small flowers along the edge and yellow inside.
The brown hair is cut short to the shoulders.
The highly detailed eyes are a very vibrant blue.
On her feet she wears white cotton socks and hand-sewn blue felt shoes.
The extraordinary details can already be seen from the original packaging with a colorful and cheerful pattern.
As closure of the box there are two red rubber bands that tie around two heart-shaped buttons.
