"The work of Bonne ten Kate consists of assemblies of disassembled tools, parts of machines, shovels or other agricultural implements, and everything that can be found on a flea market. The parts get a different identity in their new composition. spades e.g. faces, scissors become birds, and pincers become dancers.

The assemblies are mostly made of iron or copper. Some of them are cast in bronze, aluminum or composite. Some pieces are only sanded and left unprocessed, others are painted. Remnants and residual forms of used materials are recycled again in subsequent pieces. In addition to the metals, Bonne also uses objects made of papier-mâché and wood.
The sculptures are the product of a process of looking, seeing and associative thinking.
