post-impressionist painter, was born in 1956. He studied at the School of Fine Arts in Rouen.
Outdoor painter, specialist in seaside scenes, he painted many beaches with children, a bit like Eugène Boudin. The artist manages to produce the best shades of color, especially in his skies, in order to transcribe an impression of moving clouds, crowning long beaches.
He also appreciates estuaries reflecting the beauty of the sky.
Francis Cristaux produces incredible and particular atmospheres thanks to the nuances of colors used and to immense skies reflected in the water or overhanging immense beaches, with a magnificent illusion of depth.
