At the moment there is an exhibition in the museum the ship in Amsterdam, in which the influence of the former colony has had on the Dutch Art Deco style, which underpins and inspires this new design under the name Amsterdamse school or De Nieuwe Kunst.
The Indonesian shapes, colors and materials made a deep impression on the innovators of the New Art and the Amsterdam School. Especially the temple complexes, the folk architecture and the crafts were studied by them with great interest and appreciation.

The Indonesian influence of buildings is clearly visible on these three wooden panels, they are all three different but with a similar design. A good example is the use of these houses in Amsterdam architecture. For example, the undulating roofs and geometric shapes of the Minangkabau houses from Sumatra can be found as a visual rhyme in the houses of the Amsterdam School from around the 1920s. The panels are in excellent condition with different dimensions, the smallest is 10.1 by 21.2 cm, the 2nd is 11.2 by 20.1 cm and the largest is 15.4 by 34.4 cm.
