Richard Lukkenaer (born 1945) is a Dutch artist from Brabant who has dedicated himself to realistic art. He is mainly inspired by Dutch (old) masters. This ranging from realistic portraits of Rembrandt van Rijn to more contemporary masters such as still lifes by Henk Helmantel.
The use of colour and light play a central point in his work. He knows a free and striking technique in his style. He uses strong light-dark contrasts and thus gives his compositions a distinct character.
