Painting from an early age, then trained at the Beaux Arts in Brest, Mikel Béchu chooses to present us with warm scenes of life, borrowed from light and color.
Sometimes inspired by the Impressionism of Monet or Sorolla, the diaphanous lights of Eugène Boudin or the photographic realism of Martin Parr, Mikel takes us into a contemporary painting made up of poetry and humanity.
His very personal style, the vivacity of his touch and his mastery of oil painting led him to exhibit at a very young age with growing success.
