Carl Schultze - (Dusseldorf 1856 - 1926)
Schultze was the son of the Magdeburg-born painter Robert Schultze (1828-1910), who moved to Düsseldorf in 1847 after studying at the Dresden Academy and worked in the workshop of Johann Wilhelm Schirmer. Carl Schultze studied from 1871/1872 at the art academy in Düsseldorf under Heinrich Lauenstein and Andreas Müller. After that he was a student of Georg Oeder. Schultze lived and worked in Düsseldorf. In 1881 he undertook a study trip to Paris. Others followed in the Eifel and the Ardennes, in the Netherlands, Austria, Switzerland and Italy.
