PAUWELS HENRI JOSEPH
Henri Joseph Pauwels was a Belgian painter born in 1903 in Haasdonk and died in 1983 in Beveren-Waas. As a painter he preferred landscapes, rural scenes with farms, flower arrangements, seascapes, Antwerp harbor views and interiors. His works are impressionistic in nature and exude poetry and optimism. Made works such as 'Cargo ships in the Antwerp harbour' auctioned by the Zaal Hessink in Nijmegen in 2009, 'Harbour view with ships' auctioned by the Zaal Du Mouchelles in Detroit in 2012. Signed with H. J. PAUWELS, in expanded capitals. Also listed in some catalogs as Henri Joseph Pauwels. Mentioned in Two centuries of signatures of Belgian artists.
