Painted by the painter Meindert Butter.

Meindert Butter was born in Den Helder in 1877 and was a student at the Rijksacademie in Amsterdam and studied at the Academy in Antwerp under the direction of P. Verhaert.
The painter Butter lived and worked in Amsterdam, Antwerp and Brussels, among other places, and is best known for his figure paintings.
He drew and painted various biblical and mythological figures, among other things.

Together with Jan Sluijters, Huib Luns and Salomon Garf, Meindert took part in the 'final camp' of the Prix de Rome in the summer of 1904.

Work is in good condition, it was purchased by the previous owner in 1988 in a gallery in Amsterdam (warranty certificate is included)

Work is signed lower right.
The panel is in a matching frame (panel is loose)
Dimensions of the panel are 30 by 24 cm.
