Large and important Icon of Christ Pantocrator, Russia, late 18th century. Representation of Christ Pantocrator. Tempera on wood, golden oklad, richly engraved with applied halo. It is inserted in a brass panel of the following century with a splendid chiselled silver frame. Presents the insertion of semi-precious stones at the four corners. Measures 38 x 31 cm. It is in excellent condition. It was purchased at Auctionshaus Mars in Wurzburg (Germany) which is one of the main world auctions of Russian icons.
