Gusmaroli's works focus on themes such as travel and are visually materialized through compositions of vortexes with small boats, composing imaginary landscapes on red, white, blue or black monochromes. In this way, the paper boats become infinitely multiplied metaphors of the wholly human and unstoppable desire to explore, to wander, and of the artist's will to go beyond the two-dimensionality of the canvas and invade reality. Gusmaroli chooses as its language the poetics of lightness, of the minimal gesture: the boat that sails the seas is made of paper, according to the ancient tradition of origami.
