Catawiki’s goal is to make special objects universally available. Our weekly auctions feature thousands of unusual, rare, and exceptional objects you won’t find in just any store. Bernard Aubertin was born in Fontenay-aux-Roses in 1934. Having completed his studies at the School of Decoration, he approaches Cubism and Futurism. His meeting in 1957 with Yves Klein was fundamental; in fact, from the following year he will begin the creation of his famous monochrome canvases. The artist's research focuses first on the color red, understood as fire, energy. He creates the so-called Tableaux Feu (fire paintings), animating red monochrome canvases, with nails (Tableaux Clous), iron wire (Tableaux Fil de Fer), matches (Parcours d’Allumettes). His conception of painting is metaphysical: through red he transposes the energy of the soul onto the canvas. Work with authentication and archive. 67434039
