Sylvie Overheul makes diverse work, often with humour. As a portrait painter she is now one of the top in the Netherlands.
She studied at the art academy in Rotterdam (Willem de Kooning Academy).
She reached the finals for the Dutch portrait prize, the Royal society of portrait painters (UK) and for the Dutch 'artist of the year' election with her oeuvre.
The fact that her work is being recognized is also reflected in a 36th place in the top 100 of the Gallery of Contemporary Artists in 2023.
