A unique Art Nouveau bracelet with floral motifs, made by the leading company Kollmar & Jourdan in Pforzheim, Germany.
The bracelet consists of rolled gold,
This consists of a mechanically bonded overlay of solid gold.
It is much thicker than modern electroplating and can withstand a lot of wear and use.
With maker's mark KJ Arow
Dates from around 1910-1920.
The bracelet is still in good condition but shows slight fading and signs of wear!
The history of the jewelry company Kollmar & Jourdan began in the jewelry capital of Germany, the city of Pforzheim, in 1885. Initially, the founders of the company Emil Kollmar and Wilhelm Jourdan focused on the production of watch cases, straps and jewelry in silver and gold plating.
The company expanded its production and became known in Germany as well as throughout Europe and America.
After fifteen years of successful work, by 1900 the company had nearly 400 employees. Traditionally, the company's craftsmen marked the products with the initials KJ, crossed by an arrow.
As a result of World War II, the factory was destroyed. However, a few years later it was restored and brought back to its former glory, with an emphasis on jewelry production. The company ceased to exist in 1975.
