Selling here is a late eighteenth century first edition of 'Journal polytechnique ou bulletin du travail fait à l'école centrale des travaux publics.'. In two parts. The parts are bound together and have separate pagination. With nine folding plates and charts total, throughout.

"Stereotomie", by Monge; "Architecture", (communications by Citizens Lamblardie and Baltard), "fortification" by Dobenheim; "Drawing" by Neveu; "Analysis", by Gaspard de Prony; "General Physics", by Barruel; "Mercury Freezing Experiment" by Hasenfratz, Welter, Bonjour, and Hachette; "Chemistry" ; "Preliminary courses, vegetable substances, animal substances, mineral substances" by Fourcroy, Chaptal, Berthollet, Guyton, "Chemistry of salts, vegetable chemistry, mineral chemistry", by Vauquelin, Chaussier and Guyton; "Memory on some means of economy and improvement in hat factories", by Citizen Chaussier; "Memory on the geometric determination of hues in drawings".

Bound in paper covered boards with calf edge. Binding heavily worn, with loss to edges and corners. Boards coming loose and spine with loss.Contents: first couple of leaves coming loose to part one. Ink signature to title. General toning, browning and some spotting. A few plates with marginal tears, but are whole. Title to second part torn to margin. Otherwise in good order. Plates in nice condition for the age. A decent example of a scarce book. Please see our images for further description.
