_________

Charles Guilloux was one of the protégés of the Le Barc de Bouteville gallery who defended all avant-garde artists, including Anquetin, Toulouse-Lautrec, Emile Bernard, Pissarro, and Van Gogh. Guilloux thus exhibited there regularly until 1897, and participated in particular in the large exhibition of the gallery "Painters impressionists and symbolists", in 1894.

He exhibited at the Salon of the National Society of Fine Arts in 1905, then at the Salon des Indépendants between 1911 and 1914.

In 2007, the Musée d'Orsay in Paris acquired his Twilight (1892) and his Edges of the Seine at Dusk (1894).

Dieppe and its surroundings have inspired many painters. Claude Monet, Camille Pissarro or even Eugène Boudin have set up their easels in the city of four ports.

In the 19th century, thanks to the fashion for sea bathing, Dieppe became a renowned seaside resort where aristocrats and large families resided. 67551621
