Chekos art
Born in 1977 in Lecce, a small town in Southern Italy, he moved to Milan at the age of 13, where he grew up in the graffiti underground of the Milanese old school of the early 90s, one of the precursors of the Italian street art movement.
Graphic artist, muralist and street artist, he works in the field of urban art with a strong personal style. His works can be admired in the city districts and along the streets of Italy, Poland, Germany, France, Belgium, Luxembourg, Spain, Portugal, England, India, NYC (United States), Xiemen (China), Yogyakarta ( Indonesia), Bali, Tetovo (Macedonia), Vlora (Albania) and more.
He actively participates in numerous festivals, exhibitions and artistic projects in Italy and abroad.
His murals attack the strong social contrasts, representing "paths of historical memory" - through giant pictures of faces, symbol of the urban spaces in which he operates. From popular icons to the great masters of the past, Chekos'art leaves indelible imprints, with the aim not only of redeveloping the gray areas of the cities but to communicate with the new generations.
In 2009 he founded the Street art South Italy platform.
In 2012 he founded the 167 / B Street laboratory. A physical space dedicated to art which, starting from the periphery, is proposed as an ever-changing exhibition center.
