Frameless
Josep Colomer was an important landscape painter from the School of Olot, a teacher of painters such as Hidalgo Portero or his son, Fermín Colomer. He participated in the preparation of theatrical sets, and restored the frescoes in the church of his native town. He was part of the “Group 7 of Color”, founded in 1997, together with T. Pons, J. Mª Solà, J. Ferres, C. Tenas, F. Contreras and E. Rubió. In this painting, Josep Colomer focuses on the atmospheric rendering of the landscape, with the humid, cold and solitary environment being the absolute protagonist. In this sense, light work plays an important expressive role, creating subtle games of brightness and shadow. It is also worth noting the magnificent invoice, very dense and loose but thought out and controlled, used by Colomer to bring solidity to the foreground and blur the shapes in the distance, creating a misty environment on the horizon. 67349721
