Henri Rousseau, born May 21, 1844 in Laval and died September 2, 1910 in Paris, was a French painter, considered a major representative of naive art.

He taught himself painting and produced many canvases. They often represent jungle landscapes. His inspiration comes mainly from illustrated books, botanical gardens, and encounters with soldiers who took part in the French intervention in Mexico. 67530531
