A young Magdalene with particularly sweet features and far from the usual messages of ostentatious sensuality.
This extraordinary female character, who stimulated the creativity of all the great masters of ancient painting, is depicted by the author in such a way as to make him unusually modest, with a very sweet and innocent face. The Magdalene does not offer her bare breasts and languid gaze to the viewer, but rather covers her chest with her left hands in a gesture of maximum composure, carrying the crucifix over it.
Large painting, very rare, of considerable size, coming from a church, in a popular style, in good condition.
With certificate of authenticity
The conservation conditions are good, the painting has been relined and the drops have been fixed to the canvas. The painting is dark and some of the color has been lost over time. There are signs of previous restorations. However, the charm of the work has remained unchanged. Ideal for furniture and for insiders
