"Perles et Parures" is a book written by Paul Gavarni and Charles Méry, published in 1854. It is a collection of short texts accompanied by drawings illustrating women's fashion of the time. The authors present with humor and irony the sartorial extravagances of high society women, as well as the evolutions of fashion over the seasons. The book is an interesting account of Parisian life in the second half of the 19th century and the importance of fashion in the society of the time. 67439507
