Original vellum binding with title on spine. Title page, drop caps and endings with engravings. Title on title page in red and black. Indexes in italics. Pages 2bb + 8 nos. + 572 + 12 nos. + 2bb. total 596 pp. Slight browning; fresh and well preserved specimen. It has never been restored. No ownership signature or other marks (see photographs).
2)Lodovico Antonio Muratori (1672-1750) completed his studies in Modena with the Jesuits, his future Order. After graduating he moved to Milan with Count Carlo Borromeo and then became Librarian of the Duke of Modena. This book is against eighteenth-century skepticism represented by Pierre Daniel Huet's "Traité philosophique de la foiblesse de l'esprit humain" Printed in Venice in 1756. Third edition.
