Very rare publication of Political Verses by Giuseppe Biscontini Emigrated from Veneto published in Palermo in 1861. Biscontini was a notary, poet, writer and patriot born in 1820 in Polcenigo. He wrote several works some of these unobtainable. While exercising the notary's office in Sacile in 1859 he was induced to flee to avoid prison as a result of his anti-Austrian activity taking refuge in Modena. The volume in question was published in Palermo where Biscontini had moved and he dedicated it to the King of Italy. In the following years he moved to different locations and then ended up in Rome where his death was never known. An extroverted character, he maintained correspondence with various personalities of the Italian Risorgimento. The original paperback booklet is in fair condition, complete with no writing, some creases on the outer corners but overall in good condition.
