The artist was born in Suhl in 1957. From 1980-1984 he acquired his basic technical skills at the Academy of Visual Arts in Leipzig. He lives and works near Leipzig. In 2009 he became an autodidact in the Association of Visual Artists in Leipzig
which he left again in 2021 because of the change in language there. The painter regularly exhibits in several smaller galleries in and around Leipzig. and often works as an artist in residence near Arta.
