The engraving is hand-colored in some of its points, taken from Stieler's atlas, more precisely the third edition (1852) out of ten printed editions.
The map was drawn by Friedrich von Stülpnagel in 1848, corrected by Hermann Berghaus and engraved by Wilhelm Behrens.
The map is very detailed, a map object of great historical value, as the ancient borders of the states in question are depicted.
The engraving is in excellent condition, some small foxing, untouched margins, original central fold.
