Hand coloured optical print of a biblical scene from Genesis, Joseph telling of his dreams to his brothers. Title repeated in four languages, Latin, French, Italian and German lower section of print outside the image. Bright colours with light soiling Probst was a German artist, engraver and publisher based in Augsburg a major publishing centre in the 17th and 18th centuries. Optical prints were designed to be viewed through a Zograscope or similar device of convex lenses and mirrors to produce an optical illusion of depth. 67373983
