Valuable engraving made by Jan Baptist Gaspars (1620-1691) between 1650 and 1690.
Sheet size: 16.5 x 12cm.
Coeval edition on laid paper in excellent condition, trimmed along the margins. The old collector's stamp is present on the reverse, at the bottom: J.E. Wetterauer.

According to the British Museum conservator: "This plate was formerly attributed to Francis Cleyn, then placed with the unidentified Dutch and Flemish prints. Stylistic comparison with Gaspars' etchings permits tentative attribution to him."
