A very beautiful oak plaque with a portrait of the female heroine Kenau Simons Hasselaer, made in the 19th century, inspired by the painting in the Rijksmuseum.
Kenau Simonsdatter Hasselaer (1526-1588/1589) was a shipbuilder and timber merchant who became known through the legend about her resistance to the defense of Haarlem during the Eighty Years' War, please also see the additional information in the last photos.
