Bound in green cloth with gold lettering.
With beautiful (about 130) color woodcut lithographic illustrations and plates. Part 2 has a large fold-out illustration (with two tears, see photo).
Written in the old Dutch language. The book tells about the history of the Netherlands with explanations and examples of everyday life from that time.
Nice extensive registers.
The entire set is in reasonably good condition considering the age of the set. No loose pages and still well to reasonably well bound. Covers look good, backs are somewhat damaged at the top and bottom (see photos). Pages still very neat, but some brown spots due to the age of the books.
The chromolithographic plates are separate from the texts and are really beautiful. Hours of viewing pleasure that immediately takes you back to the 19th century in North and South Holland. 67515325
