STENN Henri was born in 1903 in Bruges and died in 1993 in Paris. He is a post-Impressionist painter (French School) Son of the Flemish painter Charles Verbrugghe, friend of Monet, familiar with Utrillo and Van Dongen.

Stenn was not strictly speaking a painter in Montmartre.

However, he frequented the Butte extensively, especially the estaminets at one time; he came regularly to his father's house, rue Philippe de Girard.

His style and subjects were very close to those of his father, who taught him painting.

It is necessary to render this justice to Henri that he was never tempted to pass off his works as those of his father.

This is the reason why he took the pseudonym of Stenn, named after a famous Flemish painter of the seventeenth century. 67112255
