This sketch is the preliminary study of p.12, strip 2 picture 1.
Difficult to find sketch since the 2 professors are on it, which is rare.
The sketch is full of emotion: you can see the quarrel, as it were.
Both professors are completely finished with details of the clothing drawn, these details are already present everywhere compared to the later finished drawing. Rare to find these 2 figures together on 1 sketch.
On the right you can already see the start of the next picture where you already see Bert.
To better assess the perspective and arrangement of some drawings, Pom made sketches that were later destroyed; this is one of those rare surviving sketches. As a perfectionist, he always wanted to strike the right proportions, but almost always destroyed the (in his eyes) imperfect sketch.
