Catawiki’s goal is to make special objects universally available. Our weekly auctions feature thousands of unusual, rare, and exceptional objects you won’t find in just any store. In-8, posterior half-vellum, flat spine with handwritten inscriptions, rubbed edges, detached spine, one ex-libris erased: "B. Marie de Noveira [?]", stamped ex-libris, small work of verse at the end of volume without affecting the text, S.l., 1603, 9 ffnch of preface and table, 737 pp.

The first French edition of 1582 was entitled "Déclamations" and not "Paradoxe". Innumerable were not only the editions of this work but also the comments and analyzes that each of the chapters gave rise to. Among the most commented chapters figured: the art of Lullius, alchemy, the police or government of the cities, "the whores", the pimping, the economy, the women of court, the surgery, the kitchen. The chapter on the negotiating commoners joins the second part of the title of the work which shows how Agrippa was very sensitive to frequenting the court of the great lords. The chapter "Artificial memory" seems to anticipate the modern notion of the right to be forgotten. 67494213
