Catawiki’s goal is to make special objects universally available. Our weekly auctions feature thousands of unusual, rare, and exceptional objects you won’t find in just any store. Porsche 911 Coupe Series 0 from 1965, one of the first ever made. The chassis number is part of the ‘300’ series batch, in fact the first three digits are 302.

The chassis, gearbox and engine numbers correspond to the original ones as per the Porsche Certification attached in the photos. Built in the second half of 1965, with the following options for Kardex: Electric sunroof, tinted windows, radio with antenna, speaker, fog lights.
It was finished by the factory in Polo Red with a black leatherette interior and was equipped by the factory with 4.5-inch Lemmerz steel rims that are still the original ones and in fact, as shown in photos, feature July 1965 as the manufacture date!

The car was originally delivered in the state of Washington (USA). This car was purchased in 1998 by myself. It was rust free and very original.
A full restoration was carried out, returning the car to its original factory specifications only with the highest quality craftsmanship and attention to detail. The car was disassembled and extensively photographed. A CD-ROM is supplied with the car with over 300 photos relating to the work carried out.

The restoration of the bodywork was carried out starting from the bare sheet metal, which was repaired where necessary.

The original colour, Polo Red, was applied using the correct Glasurit paint. The interior was fully re-upholstered.

The engine was disassembled and overhauled according to original Porsche specifications. The carburettors were also completely overhauled.
Heat exchangers were installed along with a new exhaust silencer. The transmission was disassembled and overhauled according to original Porsche specifications.

The restoration, which began in 2016, was completed in 2020.
In 2021 it was ASI approved with the Targa Oro Class A type 3, i.e. a car completely restored according to the original specifications. General wearing parts were replaced, the paintwork was professionally corrected, extensive detailing was carried out and other small additions were made to take this extraordinary car to the next level.
You don’t often see such a sought-after car on the market in such an extraordinary restored condition.

The car comes with an original tool bag, a jack and a spare 4.5 x 15 steel rim. It is a very reliable car, the 6-cylinder engine has good torque and starts immediately.

In March 1966, after the very first units equipped with Solex carburettors, which were difficult to develop and gave a vacuum of power at around 4000 rpm, the brand chose to mount the Weber carburettors as standard as they were more reliable, and offered the owners of cars equipped with Solex, as is the case this model, the possibility of replacing the carburettors with Webers free of charge.

As an example of the work carried out, some photos have been added. The car comes from the USA, regularly imported into Italy with paid customs duties and registered in Italy.

It is possible to technically inspect the car at the Porsche Centre in Naples. The Certificate of Origin issued by Porsche North America and Porsche Italia and the Targa Oro ASI are also published.
