Beautiful statue in multicolored biscuit of Saint Anthony of Padua with Jesus.

Fully intact, with light signs of use.

Anthony is depicted here with a book with the child Jesus on it and a lily in his left hand as a symbol of virginity. The statue is richly decorated with floral motifs and many details in gold.

Anthony, a contemporary of Francis of Assisi, is regarded as an important saint. He is the patron saint of, among others, the Franciscans, lost objects, women and children, the poor, bakers, miners, marriage, travelers and lovers and patron against shipwreck, the plague and fever.
