Richard Lukkenaer (1945) is a Dutch artist from Brabant, who has focused on realistic art. He is mainly inspired by Dutch (old) masters. This varies from realistic portraits by Rembrandt van Rijn to more contemporary masters such as still lifes by Henk Helmantel.
The use of color and incidence of light play a central role in his works. He knows a free and confident technique in his style. He uses strong light-dark contrasts to give his compositions a distinct character.
