French artist born in 1950, Joël Lhopital paints from nature in the manner of the Impressionists. His goal: to explore the relationship of colors and interpret the subject through an expressive style and a spontaneous line. That's it, it's not made for conceptual adventure or for constantly building and rebuilding, but for reviving looks tarnished by the grayness of everyday life.
Some of his paintings are exported to the United States. He has won many prizes and awards in the north of France and he has exhibited in many galleries: Anne Baclet Armentières gallery (59), Philippe Morel Arras gallery (62), Aliotte Lille gallery (59), as well as at United States: Atlanta, High Point.
