Selling here is a very rare example of Georg Rudolph Böhmer's, 'Technische Geschichte der Pflanzen'. In two volumes.
The set explores the use of plants in in various trades and industries, including textile production, soaps, paint and dyes (classified by colours), glues, paper and cardboard, firelighting materials and wicks, brushes, tobacco and chocolate. OCLC records two copies only, at Frankfurt and the Bayerische Staatsbibliothek; no copies recorded outside of German libraries.

Re-bound in red morocco over marbled paper boards. Some light wear and scuffing to the spine. Contents: ink markings to head of each title. Browned and foxed throughout, heavier in parts. There is some spotting and a few small ink markings. A decent example of a scarce book. Please see our images for further description.
