Photographer Wil Crooymans works with a select group of adventurous models to capture the magic of abandoned buildings in his own way. The beauty of the models is both in contrast and harmony with abandoned castles, dying industry and abandoned churches. Crooymans about his work: “I feel like an intruder when I enter the abandoned building unannounced and without permission. I step in with a pounding heart, not knowing what to expect and with the fear of getting caught. They are also steps in the history that the building exudes. A building that had to do without human warmth and attention for many years, forgotten and left to die. Once it was proud and stately, it was buzzing with life inside. But nature strikes back, straight through iron and stone. Nature takes over everything, covering the floors with carpets of moss, stripping the walls of all their splendor and decorating the windows with climbing plants. I am in a different world.” Condition: the work is in good condition.
