Beautiful set of two early Art Nouveau window pendants with a bird of paradise on each pendant, recognizable by its long characteristic tail. The superimposed rounded lead strands indicate that this concerns glazing technique from around 1900. The panes were found together with much other stained glass in an attic of an old pre-war demolition building in Dordrecht. They came into my possession through the wrecker. Diamonds hang from a brass link chain. Some glasses have damage, but nothing is missing and very decorative presentable. Given the elegant Art Nouveau design and the use of the rare opaline glass, I date them around 1900.
