Marie-Jeanne van de Velde (MJ), 15.10.1957 is a multidisciplinary professional contemporary Flemish artist from Ronse, Belgium. Arts and Crafts by MJ. instagram/bymjmad. Born with an artistic eye and a passion for painting, sculpture and street art, she makes art under the name MJ. She attended art school in Ghent (Belgium). The work can be abstract or figurative. Miro and Mondrian are the 'liberation' in art for her. She often processes their work and gives them a new life by incorporating them into her own works. By mixing works with expressionism and the constructive, she brings a certain tension to her work.
Each work, on canvas or paper, is authentic and hand signed.
Her career started as a professional painter in 1988 and in the meantime she also became a gifted ceramist. She is always experimenting with new materials and techniques.
Her works were and are sold at home and abroad and her own gallery in Ronse (B). Directly from their studio, the works are carefully packaged and shipped insured with DPD. 67271115
