Hand-colored sheet from the approx. 450-title collection with peep-box images from the Augsburg publishing house of the Academie Imperiale. The sheet is mounted on firm cardboard and is therefore in almost perfect condition. Trimmed at the top and sides (without loss of image or text).
These days the views of bygone days are sought-after views that no longer exist in this form.
Augsburg sheets by Probst and the Academie Imperiale were way ahead of foreign peep show production, more detailed copper plates with lovingly designed details, as well as the clearly finer coloring, make them a special visual treat today. 67515725
