Edition of 120 copies on Rives vellum, this one of the 100 reserved for members of the Society, n°88 printed for René Reinig.

Enriched with a menu for the Bibliophiles of Faubourg and Paper, illustrated and signed by Marty on the first sheet, autograph signature at the bottom right with the note "to Mr. Reining".

In this short story published as an appendix to the treatise De l'amour (1822), Stendhal sets out, for the first time, his famous theory of crystallization.

Volume in sheets, folded cover, publisher's folder and slipcase. - Back of the shirt and edges of the case a little faded. Otherwise in excellent condition.
