Catawiki’s goal is to make special objects universally available. Our weekly auctions feature thousands of unusual, rare, and exceptional objects you won’t find in just any store. Bound in Moroccan leather stamped with golden motifs, 10.4x6.4cms. miniature size Messy pagination. The spine is missing, and the binding is somewhat worn. It has a loose leaf. In general the set of the work is good.
It is a numbered edition of 500 copies, the one we offer bears the number 166. It preserves the 13 plates that are expected for this work, 12 of them hand-colored, each corresponding to a month of the year. Some of them are accompanied by a song on the next page. At the end there is a calendar with blank spaces to write, without being written.
The book is not dated, although from the typography we can deduce that it is from the last third of the 17th century.
It was customary in Paris to give these almanacs at Christmas. The rarity of what we offer are its hand-colored illustrations, being a numbered edition and the songs, having a slightly erotic touch. Only one copy of this work is preserved in the world, in the Dartmouth Library. A true rarity. Any questions do not hesitate to contact 67559715
