Catawiki’s goal is to make special objects universally available. Our weekly auctions feature thousands of unusual, rare, and exceptional objects you won’t find in just any store. Henk Hulshof is self-taught. He watches and listens carefully. A painter who depicts interiors and landscapes with striking realism. Later he became acquainted with the artistic, expressionist Cobra movement, of which Karel Appel, among others, was a part. The Veluwe painter Eef van Brakel, born in Driel in 1930, was of great importance to Henk in that period. Van Brakel goes through the same development: from impressionist to expressionist.

To fill the surfaces, he chooses his bright colors with care. A limited number of elements are clearly recognizable and repetitive: characteristic buildings such as farms, barns, windmills. Nature or the beach and the sea. And the sun. The sun always shines with Henk. It symbolizes cheerfulness and warmth.

Canvas dimensions: 80 x 60 cm.

When picked up, the shipping costs will of course be refunded. 67627851
