Painted in Provence when the artist had a country residence there.
From personal family collection with note on reverse. Unique.
As a Belgian artist, he was a painter, draftsman and graphic artist. Education at the Academy in Bruges (1933-1935) and at Sint-Lucas in Ghent. Worked for a year and a half under the direction of C. Permeke. Initially worked in the dark atmosphere of Permeke, but from around 1950 his palette gradually brightened. Realized landscapes, still lifes, nudes, portraits.
