Mother of pearl abalone and olive wood 1850-1890.

Precious and rare icon engraved and sculpted entirely by hand in high quality abalone mother-of-pearl, depicting the interior of the upper room at the last supper with Jesus and the twelve apostles sitting along a laden table.

The composition performed in high relief, has a broad perspective that creates depth and space and gives a beautiful architectural effect to the work, highlighting the background with capitals and arabesque windows and in the center the beautiful temple of Jerusalem.

The artist has taken up the same composition of Leonardo Da Vinci's Last Supper.

The main scene is surrounded by a very elaborate precious frame, with finely engraved and elaborate arabesques and geometric shapes.

The Holy Sepulcher and the risen Christ are engraved on the upper tip.

The whole is placed on a recently cleaned olive wood base.

It dates back to the second half of the 19th century and comes from the Holy Land and is part of an important private collection.

It is in perfect condition, measuring (Height 22cm x Width 21cm x Length 4.5cm)
