Indeed, the latter inherited the instruments of Nollet's physics cabinet in 1770 upon his death.
In 1768, Nollet had obtained for his pupil Mathurin-Jacques Brisson the survival of the place of royal professor of physics at the College of Navarre then that of master of physics at the Children of France: Brisson continued the work of his master, with a precise and objective in works emphasizing didactics -
Brisson even increased the number of instruments in his former master's physics cabinet. Thus his Dictionary forms a kind of complement to the older works of Nollet.
This set condenses all the material of the courses that Brisson gave at the College of Navarre and privately. Brisson, a great pedagogue, was famous for the clarity and excellence of his teaching.
The first volume deals with the law of motion and mechanics and the second with air, colors and optics -
