Beautiful metal statue of Pope Pius IX, made in the period 1850-1880. It is made of metal and is 28 cm high including plinth. The plinth is made of wood and the statue is mounted on it. The console is 12 cm deep and 20 cm wide, smooth at the back. Next to Pius IX you can see the papal tiara specially made for him on a pillow. Given the presence of the tiara, it is more likely that the statue was made around 1850.
The appointment of Pope Pius IX took place on June 14, 1846.
